What data we collect

• Email address — only if you choose to subscribe for more comparisons or our newsletter.
• Comparison history — what you compare and how you vote, linked to a browser fingerprint (a random identifier stored in your browser, not your personal information).
• Browser fingerprint — a randomly generated string stored in localStorage. This is not derived from your device characteristics — it's just a random ID so we can count your free comparisons and prevent duplicate votes.
• Basic analytics — page views and referral sources via Plausible Analytics (privacy-friendly, no cookies, GDPR-compliant, no personal data collected).

How we use your data

• To serve and cache comparisons so repeat searches load instantly.
• To count votes and show vote percentages to other users.
• To enforce free usage limits (3 comparisons without email, 5/month with email).
• To send you our weekly newsletter if you subscribe (you can unsubscribe anytime).
• To understand which comparisons are popular so we can improve the site.

Third parties

• Supabase — database and authentication. Your data is stored on Supabase's servers.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — comparison items are sent to Claude's API for AI analysis. No personal data is sent — only the comparison inputs.
• Plausible Analytics — privacy-friendly analytics. No cookies, no personal data, GDPR-compliant by design.
• Vercel — hosting platform. Standard server logs may include IP addresses.

Cookies

We use localStorage (not cookies) to store your browser fingerprint and comparison count. Plausible Analytics does not use cookies. No third-party tracking cookies are set.

Your rights

You have the right to request deletion of your data at any time. Email us and we will:

• Remove your email from our subscriber list
• Anonymise your comparison history (remove email from logs)
